Pettibone Music Center & Bookstore
This project features the adaptive reuse of the former Pettibone Warehouse Building into a new home for the university’s music department and as a social gathering space for school functions. The program includes upgrades and redesign of interior spaces in all of the space in the former four bay warehouse and maintenance facility including new plumbing, electrical, mechanical and technology systems.
The addition of a steel canopy entrance harbors to the industrial nature of the building and draws people into the facility. This entry leads to a larger common space central to the building circulation that also serves as an informal gathering area between practice rooms and faculty offices. Filling out the 1st and 2nd bays will be the music education classrooms and support spaces. Bays 3 and 4 feature the new Paul Marion Book Store and the newly opened Wall Street Pub and Grub.
