Maxwell Hentosh

MAXWELL HENTOSH | Project Designer

Meet Maxwell

Maxwell is an energetic designer with an interest in exploring the audible qualities of phenomenological design. He graduated from Kent State University with a master’s degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in Urban Design, and attended the University of Cincinnati college of DAAP for his BS. Arch. Previously Maxwell has taught Interior Design at Kent State University and has over 8 years of professional experience. With experience ranging from single-family residential to acoustics and large scale urban master planning, Maxwell brings a number of skills to the table that elevate the experiential qualities of his projects here at MKC. With extracurricular interests in philosophy, fine arts, and music, Maxwell definitely prefers to be considered a jack of all trades rather than a master of one.

In 2018, Maxwell lead a team of Kent State students to Harbin, China along with Dean Mark Mistur and Professor Rui Liu to construct their competition winning ‘Thrice’ at the Harbin Ice Festival. In 2019, he traveled to Beirut to study, compare, and contrast the urban qualities of the Nahr that runs through the city to the Cuyahoga and Medellin [Colombia] river. His work was published in ‘River, Nahr, Rio’ by Dr. Taraneh Meshkani. Most recently, the sculptural instillation ‘Sense’ was designed and constructed alongside Jennifer Rufener for the Cleveland Ingenuity Festival 2021.
